I'm Tokelauan, Rarotongan, Samoan and german. My Tokelauan is the most spoken korero spoken at home. Born and raised in Aoutearoa and find Rarotongan and Tokelau are the closest language to te reo. My nan and mum loved waita Maori because they understood word for word and would translate and sing these waita in their own reo. So beautiful.
