He's sadly mistaken if he thinks the PIF will pay Jay to do what Jay thinks is best. Never happen. PIF will pay Jay to say and do what they want, not what he wants. That's how a business works.

There was a comment made during the interview about PGA players who are lower down rankings that find it hard to make cuts and to keep their card and that Rory could not relate. This is what makes Liv unique. All the Liv players have been paid for the season and any event win is a bonus. It gives the families confidence that they will be ok and the players can just focus on golf. PGA does a poor effort of this and something Rory cannot relate to.

PIF just purchased the PGA. They created LIV because that was the seat at the table they needed to get it done.

Why should PGA Tour players that didn't move to LIV be compensated?? The ones who took the risk and did go were punished for it and basically blacklisted. Like all the haters kept on saying, the LIV guys made their choice. Now that it turns out they probably made a good choice in the long run, given how things have turned out, I don't see why the ones that didn't take any risk should be compensated whatsoever. Interested to hear your thoughts on this.

In response to the question at 4:37 the 180 was due to not being able to compete with the Saudis financially in the courts. It is that simple, that drawn out litigation would have crushed the PGA tour. So from a business standpoint game, set, match. This will eventually be good for golf. And don't forget that 80% of the PGA sponsors are already partially backed by the Saudis.

"money talks" is a rich statement coming from a guy who hasnt sniffed a major in almost 10 years, been pretty average considering he is supposed to be such a stud golfer, and made 20 million a year from nike and hasn't been the same golfer since he sold out for money...

Also you realize they had to do this, bc they were going to lose their lawsuit to LIV right? Wonder what would have been revealed in court.... This was inevitable, and the PGA didn't want certain things revealed in court...

What about if this merger is happening also because PIF and PGA did not want to display some creative accounting that is happening, especially since PGA is a non profit...

Regarding Rory, he is very new to the corporate world, money talks, lets just say Monahan has already an exit clause and will make big bucks!

The only thing that makes sense of how it was announced is that it was leaked and they weren’t ready to announce it before announcing it to the players. It stinks to high heaven that it was leaked. Monahan’s statement wasn’t even ready. It was leaked. I’d bet everything on that.
