SCS and Peter Kærs Art Calendar 2021

Показать описание
Peter Kær - the Danish TV-star and art expert - composed music for this years art calendar. The name of the piece is Etude til Elisabeth and is a tribute to the artist Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann (1819-1881).
She was an internationally recognized globetrotter: Born in Poland, educated in Germany, in love with Rome, resident in Denmark and bestseller in, amongst other places, England. She traveled out and like few of the time, visiting Turkey, Greece and Egypt. The music is clearly inspired by her masterpiece: An Egyptian Potter at Giza (from 1878). The painting hangs at the Statens Museum for Kunst and that is where the recording took place.
