Sanctions hit hard: Russia have problems with export of oil

New US sanctions against Russia are hitting oil exports. First of all, new restrictions should close loopholes in existing sanctions. Now the aggressor country needs to look for someone to sell its oil to. The list of such countries is getting smaller every time.

Keep the sanctions. No loopholes anywhere.

Well done, Vladimir! You've done what no other Russian president has been able to achieve. You made your oil unsellable, even for half price 😐

Their oil problems are only starting. Why would the West lift sanctions? Who would invest in Russia ever again? Who would allow themselves to be dependent on Russian energy again?

Regardless of generalized calculations of market share losses; Make note that when Poutin' was crowned god an savior of Russia, oil was selling at over $130 per barrel, AND was over 50 percent of annual Russian budgetary revenue. Today, regardless of what little they can export, the Russians are barely getting far below half of that amount.

Keep investing in alternative energy sources, energy efficiency and ramped production in nations which respect international law and oppose Russia.

India is switching to Iraqi oil, because it’s about the same price with less risk financing it. Russia is closing down wells because they’re not able to find an equally large market to sell to like India. Iran may try to block the Straight to prevent this oil from reaching India. Tense but promising situation. Russia produces 800.000 fewer barrels a day than half a year ago, or about -15% total output.

Regardless of current calculations of market share losses, make note that when Poutin' was god and savior of Russia, oil was over 50% of Russian revenue, and selling at over $130 per barrel.
With what little oil Russians can export, they are barely getting half of that rate. Even if Russia could export at previous levels, that would still mean a loss of revenue income of over 50%.
A triple-hit: sanctions restricting exports, loss of oil politics leverage, very little cash for what oil that can actually make it to market... burgeoning renewables industry is merely salt in the wound.

The United States pumped more oil in 2023 than any country has in one year in the history of mankind. In your face Mr. P.

The new sanctions are hitting hard, Russia cut its output three times last year as it doesn’t have large storage facilities, India and China use non refined oil as cheaper and they have their own refinery, India is buying much more oil from the Middle East now as tankers can’t offload because of much tighter checks, all good news against Russian war machine, so many things coming together financially, Ruble worthless no one wants it, India refused Putin ultimatum and wouldn’t pay for oil in Ruble, 💪🇺🇦🇺🇦💪

We should stop screwing around and drop their price down to 30 dollars a barrel. At that point there is less profit than it takes to create a barrel of oil.
