Rimmed with that distinctive camo pattern, Wychwood’s range of Tactical carp bivvies cut a distinctive look on the bank. But, as you’ll already know if you’ve been paying close attention to the company’s output in recent years (other videos listed below), there’s also plenty of substance behind the good looks. Below is a quick rundown of how the range shapes up and in this carp fishing video, CARPology's Luke Venus offers up a very detailed look at each model.

𝟭. 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗶𝘃𝘃𝘆
A bold claim, but this perhaps one of the most underrated shelters available at the moment. It’s a boxy three-rib design with loads of usable internal space, yet it weighs less than 5kg without the groundsheet and pegs. Furthermore, it’s made from Wychwood’s down-right lovely ripstop material (with a 10,000mm hydrostatic head) and has a large zip-in door, a built-in peak and a pair of large rear mozzy meshes. A proper groundsheet and pegs are included in a package that fits nicely into a sensibly sized heavy-duty carry bag. There’s not much more to ask for…

𝟮. 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗶𝘃𝘃𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻
…Unless, of course, you want to supersize your order. In which case, the Tactical Bivvy Extension is the ideal solution. It fits easily over the front peak and provides an enlarged porch section, big enough to house an extra bedchair or plenty of bait or cooking equipment for those longer sessions. Like the main Tactical Bivvy, it’s made with tough 16mm poles and that ripstop fabric, and it’s supplied with a heavy-duty groundsheet and proper pegs. This add on weighs 4.2kg all in and comes in its own bag.

𝟯. 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝘃𝘃𝘆
If the Tactical concept sounds appealing, but you really don’t need all that space then the Compact model is built around the same principles with a smaller footprint. That said, it does a great job of maximising the available space thanks to that flat-sided design. This is a two-rib shelter, so it’s quick and easy to erect, and it packs down to just 120cm long. The shelter alone weighs just 4kg, or 6kg with the groundsheet and pegs. It features all the things we like in this range, such as the zip-in door, 16mm poles and hardcore waterproof fabric.

Can't beat it for the price. £214 i paid off ebay. Got the compact one. Plenty of room for me. I can get me old stealth bedchair right to the back and have plenty of "front area" for rucksack, bait buckets, and brew stuff. Material same as their HD brollies. Does suffer from condensation a fair bit but not a problem for overnight stints. There is an overwrap available. Easy to put up. Standard pram hood style. Two ribs three connections on each. Packs done fairly small in an oversized bag. Comes with groundsheet tension bars and pegs. Quite impressed so far.

Really like the look of these bivvies, I need a smaller one for short sessions so the compact looks perfect, good prices as well

Luke is a cute guy. I am sure he gets a lot of attention on the lakes from other fishermen.

Had a tactical since March last year and im having issues with it
Ground sheet tears very easily
The material is thinning so its loosing its waterproofing and
5 of the 6 pole elastics have snapped
Apart from those issues its a good bivvy but need making strong to last a bit more

Not for me I have had me titan T1 for years and it’s never let me down. You can pick up a good second hand Mk1 Titan T1 for about £270 quality bit of kit 👍

Tactical bivvy, why no multiple height pegging points at the front?? the compact does and the brolly, and about every other good bivvy on the market.
try putting it up on uneven ground with single peg points at the front.

I don't get it?? I'm not a tackle tart but if you're gonna do camo, do it all. If you're gonna go green, do it all green. It just looks odd, a green bivvy with a camo front. Why???

No set up, no dimensions, not much of a review or demo is it.
