As a 9th grade student, this is easy!
Let me explain

1) Addition:
Multiply the denominators of the 2 fractions together, and multiply the numerators by the denominator of the other fraction.
Example:
6/8 + 3/4
=6×4/8×4 + 3×8/4×8
=24/32 + 24/32
=48/32
To simplify:
48÷16/32÷16
= 3/2 = 1.5

2) Subtraction
Do the same thing as the additions but with the - sign.
Example:
6/8 - 3/4
=6×4/8×4 - 3×8/4×8
=24/32 - 24/32
= 0
3) Multiplication
Multiply the nominators together, and multiply the denominators together. Simplify them if possible.
Example( if the simplification is not possible in the calculation):
6/8 × 3/4
= 6×3/8×4
=18/32 = 9/16 ≈ 0.56
Another example (if simplification is possible in the calculation) :
1/2 × 3/6
= 1×3/2×3×2
= 1/2×2
= 1/4=0.25
4) Division
Reverse the numbers in the second fraction, and replace the ÷ sign with the × sign, then calculate as a multiplication of fractions.
Example:
6/8 ÷ 3/4
= 6/8 × 4/3
= 2×3×2×2/2×2×2×3
= 1 (every number is simplified, this is then automatically equal to 1)
