Front-end development has become so strange. People are getting very good with massive frameworks that blur the lines between front end and server side. Meanwhile I seem to be more productive than them using plain-old javascript on the client and a simple api (e.g. REST) on the server, using any normal server-side language (e.g. java, go, python, etc). The way we made web apps 20 years ago seems to be far superior to the way we do this today, at least from the users' point of view. They get the app sooner, it is faster, and it is less buggy. Devs get upset when I do this, and say "true, the user can't tell the difference, but you aren't using 'BEST PRACTICES', whatever that is".
