theres a fundamental issue with how you view the shadows, specifically the foliage ones. shadows that are cast from an object further from the ground will be much less sharp. for example the branches of a tree compared to the root of a tree.

the high ray traced foliage shadows from the tree IS CORRECT, the highest non traced shadow is incorrect.

As a Diablo player, I found ray tracing to be a critical feature of the game. Naaaa, it is not; I could care less; I am too busy enjoying the game mechanics. 😂😂

dynamic ray tracing in isometric game with static camera is pointless.
PoE2 uses pre-baked RT in their game as GI is static anyway. (There's no change in time of day etc.)

I think like this, from less useful to most useful: shadows, reflections, ambient/lighting/global illumination
However I'm still convinced RT shadows can really make a difference in some games, like in metro exodus for example.

"Worse foliage" under RT is probably because of distance to the light source. Still not worth it, just saying.

I dont think a game like diablo is a good idea to test Raytracing, Like take a look at cyberpunk whit PT on and off, its night and day difference.

i know you only meant good but who has a cpu bottleneck realisticly when facing the decision to use raytracing. like who paires a decent gpu that would make raytracing viable with a cpu that is struggling hard in diablo 4. sure its theoreticly possible and i bet some ultra edge cases exist in the world but its not even noteworthy honestly

You should test the 2.0 PTR performance it's pretty bad.

Max DLAA 4K everything maxed including ray tracing I get 40-75 FPS on an RTX 4090 & 7950x3d.

Live server I get 100+ fps.
