I really like these rare and understated moments when Gilfoyle and Richard connect in the realm of ideas. They have some interesting things in common and Richard, actually, DOES have a little punk rocker somewhere inside him. Gilfoyle ultimately respects this, as well as Richard's raw skill, and Richard respects him for the same reasons. Gilfoyle knows Richard could be amenable to something which shakes the foundations of power - you don't come across somebody like that every day.
