Opposition MPs return following protest over colleagues' arrests

The opposition MPs have returned parliament agreeing to engage in house business, after nearly one week after they left in protest at the continued detention of Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana and his Kawempe North colleague Muhammad Ssegirinya. The leader of the opposition Mathias Mpuuga says it is their responsibility as leaders to continue with the parliamentary business. Their return coincided with the passing of the Administration of Parliament amendment bill 2021, the first bill passed by the 11th Parliament.
