I recently experienced this monitor when my friend bought it. It was seriously impressive. I don’t think the author of this video has seen what it looks like in real life. It is not comparable the Oled c1. It is a very different experience actually.

The oled c1 does blacks really well and has some great response times.

This monitor on the hand really pops. The brightness is next level. The colors are amazing. The games we played had a rich vibrant pop to the colors.

If I could afford this monitor without selling my car.. I’d buy it

About Issue 1: Yep, thats what LCD is. Comparing it to OLED is stupid because OLED is pretty bad on a PC due to burn in which is way more common on a PC compared to a TV or Smartphone. I would never recommand a OLED Monitor for PC usage except you plan to switch it at least on a yearly basis.

About Issue 2: Yes, that makes no sense that this Monitor has no HDMI 2.1. Thats just stupid.

if it has so many dimming zones i dont think there will be an issue in that end but hdmi 2.1 was a must have.

there is no other 32 inch 4k 144hz option! 27 inch is small for 4k and oled is way too big to be on pc desk.

What difference between Asus PG32UQ and Asus PG32UQX ??

If it dropped to around £1000 I'd probably grab one without thinking... But at 3 times that already hefty price, not a chance.

But I also wouldn't buy an OLED for use a monitor, because I do end up leaving large parts of the screen static for extended periods of time.

Honestly, it’s easy to think this is a waste of you see it in person.

i'll pay 3000 for a monitor before i'll 3000 for a tv

I'm fine with the two 4K 60hz 32" monitors I bought last year, for almost ONE TENTH the cost each. I know they aren't as nice but ONE TENTH THE COST.

I did, and I am truly blown away. Yea my wife is going to kill me, but my eyes are thanking me! BTW I have the PG27UQ, its older, little brother for sale. As far as the Haloing, yes it is noticeable on dark backgrounds while in desktop. But it is better then before. Of course gaming it is not noticeable at all. I don't game on console, so HDMI 2.1 has no meaning to me. And this time around 4k 144hz and 10 bit is possible thanks to DSC.

This video aged like milk. The PG32UQX remains the king of HDR and blooming is nearly nonexistent with models produced after late 2022.

Actually I was thinking about it. It does have a much improved backlight to the PG27UQ I have though I wish the 27 inch model had the new backlight as not a big fan of larger monitors. Can definitely say the local dimming of the g sync monitors are far superior to TVs or freesync displays with it. The g sync module directly controls each dimming zone guaranteeing flawless backlighting with very little delayed reactions as I can say with owning one myself.

Does it have the raw sharpness of an OLED or flawless per pixel brightness, no, but it looks fairly close enough for people and Windows does have many static elements that basically require an LCD. Big reason to not buy an OLED display though is irregular sub pixel structures with LG using WRGB where it adds odd fringing to text similar to using a BGR display. You can slightly fix it by switching RGB colors to YcCr444 but it won't completely fix it.

But HDMI 2.1 is a waste to me anyways. I have no intent on using a Playstation or Xbox on my PC monitor and the HDMI port doesn't even support 120hz like all g sync displays right now. And no we're not getting microLED for the next like 5 years. Even 4K 100 inch microLED displays are over 6 digits for how bad the yields are today. It's the holy grail of monitor technologies but it's a long ways off especially for PC monitors.
