Daikin Duscted FBQ w/ 4 Zo

Want all the benefits (plus a little more..) of a ductless system without anything on the walls? This system has it all and is now probably the most diverse and feature rich system we install. This install was just under $30k for full retro fit. House had baseboard heaters on a boiler, severe cold spots, house begged for micro zoning. DZK system opens up global and local ventilation on Daikin Skyair System, Auto Changeover between heating and cooling, on and on. All on a non-vrv system. This is the same system I chose for my new house as well. *NOTE: This system can also be with Mitsubishi, however, they are behind Daikin in assimilation. As in, it would be something they could do, but not something Mitsubishi has put out manuals, etc for.)

Looks awesome. I'm putting the 4 zone 3 ton FBQ in my house very shortly. Full gut and reno on the entire house. Right at 3, 000 sq ft. Right around 32, 000 btu heat load so I should have enough down to about 20 degrees OD temp. I'm also doing radiant as supplemental in the larger areas of the house. Re insulated and also foamed the roof line to give me a conditioned space in the attic. I won't be piping in any returns because I'll be using the attic as a plenum return. I'm excited to see this bad boy work, I just wish I was able to get a bit more than the 4 8" zones. Just going to have some higher velocity in some areas. Should be fun.

Pour a concrete pad with threaded rod embedded and bolt down the unit. Remove the upper straps that transmit vibration. That's how I installed my outdoor unit and it is quiet.

what do you all think of their RMXS for heating during the winter months, are they pretty good? looking at a mitsubishi hyperheat or an RMXS for midwest climate.

Hello.I am interested in ducted system for may home and I also have 4 chimneys, I can use as a ducts lines. Diameter of chimneys is about 4 inches, and I will try to split one duct from indoor unit in two, because i have 8 smaller rooms to cover. I also saw on some forums, that the diameter of one duct in the unit is about 8 inches. Is this allowed to do without affecting the appliance? Thanks for great video.

Is this better than multi-split/VRV (Multi indoor unit) ?

I feel the same don't want to see air handlers mounted on interior walls, I want a concealed system. We are still in the planning stage of designing a one story 2, 200 to 2, 400 square foot home and looking at having up to 4 zones.

The main problems I'm having with Mitsubishi, Fujitsu etc. is that there smallest 9, 000 BTU concealed air handlers have very low static pressures which limits your duct runs and to many BTU's for the zones to be conditioned.

I'm not familiar with the Daikin systems but I assume they are very similar to the other brands except Daikin also markets damper based zoning systems. I have considered using a ducted damper based zoned system, but wouldn't you at times still run into issues where just one zone is calling and the system short cycling because the CMF's are way to high? Would some designs require a bypass damper? Many many questions would love to hear your options.

Multi Zone Condensors are normally loud, but Daikin's units are sometimes just intolerable

Remove the drive holding the unit to the wall. That’s making it worse
