About a week ago, I showed you guys how to slipstream updates within your WIM file so you can deploy your images fully updated with the updates you want in it. This video we go over WSUS Offline Updater, but.... with MDT 2013 Update 2 and Windows 10.

Your videos are awesome... love the energy and your straight forward approach to teaching. I also very much appreciate the detail you give as you go along, as in you mention all the little oddities that come up that most people gloss over or fail to mention at all. Thank you.

WSUS Offline CMD is mounting with “Y” drive because the DeploymenShare mounts as a “Z” drive.
When using a wild card (*) to mount, it starts with Z and works backwards; using the next available drive letter.
👍🏻 on the video

The vid is very informative, but I can't seem to find the references and notes for the vid on your web site - looking for the UNC information. apologies if I'm looking in the wrong place.

Thanks for the post. It a great help as I am facing a lot of difficulty in updating my Windows 7 ENT Desktop/Laptop PC's specially with the fresh installation. It takes 2+ days just to install windows update.

Ran perfectly the 1st time for me. This will definitely speed up deployment here. Thanks

I have a Question. In the MDT task sequens i did't see option mount MDT network folder or mount network drive. can you please help me?

Hey Bernardo,
I really appreciate all of your useful videos on OS deployment. I believe the deployment share gets mapped as Y drive because Windows PE is loaded into RAM as X drive, so during the mount process I believe the next available drive to be used is Y.

Nice Video. In our environment I've set up a Mount Network Share task which looks a little more simple than your example. Here is the commandline that runs for the map network share task in our environment: %SCRIPTROOT%\map.bat - inside this batch file is the command to map the network share "net use W: \\servername\share /user:domain\user password" this configuration works wonders and the batch file is just placed in the scripts folder of the deployment share.

You, could create a custom task sequence with the drive mapping and update.cmd, which you could run after you've built your vm, just browse to the deployment share and run litetouch.vbs and choose the task,

Offline updates seems to be stuck on about 250 windows 7 updates and still needs about another 150+ to fully patch

Like the vid and its a good idea i will try to implement for my own use :)
Why did you do a update the deployment share?
also, could you call z:\scripts\... for the wsus batch file?

is there a way to import .CAB files onto your offline WSUS server?

Didn't work for me, even if somehow I make it execute none of the updates are installed.

I cannot get this to work on MDT build 8450 with Windows 10 ver 1709 with ADK 1709. I have the SLS Dynamic logs on and it keeps saying Return Code = -2147467259 0x80004005. I tried both Y and X drives to use as the letter. Now I know that you said to test out the different drive mappings to see what it maps to and from IT Bros, this script doesn't like UNC like \\mdtserver\share. I did notice in your video you have the drive mapped as \\ip of server\c$. I'm going to try that to see if that fixes it.

Thanks very nice! Now how do I let the MDT task sequence wait for the WSUSOFFLINE script to finish? Because it takes a long time.

Cool video very informative, could you do one with wsus and use nlite to update the iso and import that as a operating system and then deploying that which I think maybe quicker.

Hey, this was a great video. Just wanted to point something out when running batch scripts from the scripts folder.
You can still use %SCRIPTROOT% if your scripts are in separate subfolder within the scripts folder without mapping another drive first, you just write it like this.
cmd.exe /c It should execute with no issues.

You mentioned in the video that you had all the details at your site. However, I was unable to find anything there. I've copied the paths from the video but the network mount and update both fail. Sounds like a great idea, in theory, but I'm unable to implement your solution...I've double checked the paths, but still no luck.
