If all you want is the ability to drive though some slightly deeper snow, you don´t need a crossover. You can just have 4WD fitted to any car whatsoever. Renault could fit 4WD to the Clio for that matter, and it would do just as fine in show as the Capture. Are you using winter tires? Winter tires are a lot more important than 4WD when driving in snowy conditions.

Greater visibility and slightly greater size means less vulnerable....there are a lot of issues with small city cars etc where space might not quite be enough but people do not want a family sized car and the crossover/compact SUV fills that gap. Seriously, as long as they can still return 60+ MPG there should be no issues.

The Captur is £ 2K less than a Juke, £ 7k cheaper than a Vauxhall Mokka! This comparison is totally misleading if you do not specify the price difference. In almost all the tests, you find a way to say that Ford / Vauxhall / Nissan are better. But when I watch foreign tests, as Autoweek in the Netherlands, they do not have this mania for Ford/Opel /Nissan.

As much as I love Rebecca, the Captur isn't touted as a SUV, it's a compact crossover which is a different category of car. And yes, it will be more expensive then the Clio because it's a bigger car.  But hey, I don't give a shit.  Didn't stop me from ordering one.... Roll on 30th September 2014 when mine gets delivered.

Down through the years I have owned many cars from BMW Mercedes Honda to Hyundai and Ford. I really was not that interested in Renault. Until I bought my Megane. By far the best car I have had in terms of what you get for your money. Keyless entery press button start automatic lights/wipers and low running cost as standard. And a 5 star ncar rating. Just the thing when you have kids. BTW out of all the cars I had the Renault is the only one I am lucky enough not to ever have any trouble from. I will be buying a Captur this coming Christmas so to get a better deal.

Lets be honest. Crossowers are no more than fancy styled Mpv's, and in reality the Capture replace the Modus and Grand Modus. Nobody is ever going to do any kind of offroading in these cars, so 4 wheel drive would just be a complete waste of money and fuel. I think Renault deserve credit for being honest enough to realize that. And its high time the car buying public does as well.
