Why Nilou is more than just an 'Artifact Set'.

"the only times you swap into her is to activate one of her passives and she could literally be an artifact set without it really affecting how you play her teams" - Zajeff77

The tweet in question :/

Wow, I didnt know artifact sets can modify elemental reactions themselves (bloom) but ok.

Well, by his logic, Bennett could be an artifact set as well. Most Meta players dont highly rate Bennett's healing, so the only thing he does is buff the on-field character's attack (unless c6, else he gives Pyro dmg bonus as well. Also, Xiangling doesnt count in this point, because she can snapshot). The funny thing is you can get attack from artifact stat rolls, artifact sets and pyro resonance as examples.

PS: Yes, I know Bennett provides energy for Xiangling, cleanses and provides pyro aura for swirls, but remember that I am applying Zajeff's logic here.

Wow, the new artifact set can apply hydro from on and off field, deal hydro damage, give you i-frames, and gives you a massive HP pool. Hell, the new artifact set can even be used on vape comps and it impacts your team in a completely different way there! Artifacts have come such a long way 🥲

I like Zajef but his Nilou takes are so bad 😔

Zajeff try not to be wrong about Nilou(impossible, police called)

I think some people might say that because they can clear abyss with her without even bothering to look into any nuances in her kit. Her passives are just that good .

I would like to see an artifact set with so many facets. Most sets do one single thing while Nilou offers an absurd amount of team variety and strategies just inside the bloom reaction on top of having access to most dendro and hydro units, something very few characters can boast about.

Nilou is not really an artifact set when she also does her own share of bloom damage through her Hydro rings, give i-frames through her ultimate, and literally turn cope units like Collei, DMC, and Barbara to something usable through altering bloom seeds to high production/high trigger bloom bombs which gives the impression of Frontloading.

Her niche design was made because a lot of units lately have been balanced around the need for Kazuha. Her AOE being buffed ensures that her blooms are competitive enough to not rely on the CC of groupers. If Kazuha was allowed to be slotted in then her passives would be altered to balance around the use of a Kazuha there.

Also this isn't the first example of Hydro units being niche af. Childe and Xiangling are basically married to one another and anyone who says otherwise is hard coping. Childe experiences a large performance dip in any other team not International so you might as well consider him a Nilou rather than anything else.

MHY: Creates a unit so your team won't fight for Bennett and Kazuha

EN TC scene: Screams bad design (yet Batchests International where if Childe were to be put anywhere else, he'd be dogturd)

Childe and Nilou are meant to be limited team building yet versatile in content countering, Childe more so because of the mix of three elements but Nilou isn't as easily countered as one thinks.

The only enemies where I'd say completely neuter her are the Geo + Dendro Hypostasis and the Electro as well as the Geo Regisvine. Dendro resistant enemies costs a dip but you can still brute your way out as unoptimal as it is, a more offensive Hydro like Xingqiu or Yelan should mitigate that a bit though.

If artifact set which activates bountiful cores existed it would be 100x more broken than emblem, what?
I could take it any day for any resin.

But on top of that Nilou gives hydro application, 100 EM, even more bloom damage etc, etc and etc...

nilou and koko in the top of the meta as c0 characters for me. I love that i don't have to build anything to deal with the abyss! Anyways can i invite you to watch a video on my channel kokomi clan? Check the one with Nilou and a lv1 dull blade please (smiling nilou on the left of the thumbnail) i would like to know your opinion about.

off topic, but if you had to create an ideal teammate for nilou what would they be like ( besides kokomi ofc)

Without even watching the video I'd say Nilou has surprised me with how good she actually is! With no hate at all but being a character mainly locked to one "team comp" was iffy at first but once you see how powerful her teams are it's pretty surprising. I'm really looking forward towards her rerun

Hey hey hey! New subscriber here and a fellow Nilou/Kokomi lover/main! I am really in need of your help on her rotations with an Instructors Collei/DMC. How can I ensure that I proc my instructors every rotation without ruining my Dendro Aura on my enemies? Coz I am struggling so hard to find the perfect rotation for this. I've been sitting here all day trying different rotations on the abyss but still no luck. And only few people like you and jamie are the ones who are mainly running the same teamcomp as I do (others are using 1D3H which is I am not comfortable with) really like to hear your thoughts and suggestions on this one! and also can't get enough of these kinds of videos about Nilou!

I think I will defend Zajeff a bit here. He actually has a point: you "could" play Nilou as a braindead character but that doesn't mean you "have to."

I agree that your points are true, especially for those who play Nilou with on-field Kokomi like you and me. But at the moment, most people play her in Nahida + triple Hydro comps which makes Nilou's flexibility you pointed out less applicable.

Just a joke bro. Given flower of paradise give 80% bloom dmg we all know nilou is 5 artifact sets
