In people with systemic sclerosis, the gastrointestinal tract is often affected, leading to a variety of clinical presentations such as heartburn, bloating and abdominal pain. However, these symptoms can be difficult to predict due to a lack of an objective biomarker. A recent study from rheumatologist Zsuzsanna McMahan may provide some answers: She identified a relationship between anti-vinculin antibodies and gastrointestinal symptoms. McMahan shares more about her results in advance of a poster presentation at the American College of Rheumatology 2022 annual conference.

No one has been able till recently answer my issues and your notifications. Just my physio who diagnosed my symptoms with my severe neck issues and lower back pain. My rib is bigger one side and I get pain there. Then when learning to
dance, my neck could not turn 90deg only 30deg each way and aches later for pushing it uncomfortably. I am
Now breathless over little exertion and fatigued constantly. I’ve always played a high standard of tennis but I can’t catch my breath between rallies. Others my age have no
Problem. I’ve had chemo for breast cancer 16 yrs ago but this breathlessness and needing to lie down a lot is debilitating.
My bowels often diahorea and emptying unknowingly in pants now and then which makes me nervous going out.
Will this tablet you mention help my condition?

thank you for your video!!

I have been diagnosed with SIBO, I have Antivinculine antibodies 3x above the norm (SMART TEST of dr Pimentel).
for 2 years I was not able to find out what is the indirect source of my SIBO - and today thanks to yoiur video i realised that SSc impacted the functioning of my Liver and Pancreas (which caused fat maldigestion =>. dysbiosis).

The question remains: is the SSc a consequence/triggered by antivinculin antibodies ?
Or is it the opposite?
Or is it merely a correlation, not causation.
