Exploring the countryside of Rural China had always been a dream of ours. To be able to ride around in the lush green valleys and explore the villages.

Dali, Yunnan Province, was our destination for a taste of rural Chinese life. But our adventure took an unexpected twist when we got lost in the maze of narrow alleys and winding streets.

Come along as we navigate this enchanting city, where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with breathtaking landscapes. Rural China has been the most amazing adventure so far.

That's fantastic! This is exactly the kind of place where I want to live. In a few years, I plan to rent a house with a garden in Dali, where I can fish, play with a paddleboard, grow vegetables, keep a dog, ride a motorcycle, and make videos... Just thinking about it makes me happy

What a beautiful view of Erlai Lake! The bike riding had a lot of fun! Honestly you make me laugh when your scooter was restrained in that village. The alley is so narrow and Mr. Mixue's riding is so skillful!

Besides Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-la, if you have time, those places in Yunnan also worth visiting: Tengchong, Jianshui, Mile, Yuanyang, Xishuangbanna, Fuxian Lake, Lugu Lake, LIncang. Don't miss the hiking paths if you like nature view, like the Tiger Leaping Gorge Path, Yuben to Binhu Path, etc.

In Dali, visit American Bryan Lindden. He lives the place. He restored many old buildings. A wonderful man.

Actually Dali is a very beautiful place, everyday many tourists visit Dali.

I think if you go further you can see even better views of the lake. Cycling along Erhai lake one of my favourites in Dali. I love to sit in one of the cafes (coffee is not cheap) enjoy the nice view of the huge lake and people walk/cycle past. I hope you guys visit Shaxi(沙溪)ancient town about 130km away from the Dali ancient town. It is a less touristy but more beautiful (my personal opinion) than Dali ancient town.
