While reading through Psalm 9 one morning, a melody formed in my mind - the tune you hear at the opening of the piece.

Psalm 9, King James Version (KJV)

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

I love being creative on the classical guitar through playing and composing. It’s my mission to empower others to find their own creative voice.

I have a Doctor of Music from the Eastman School of Music in NY. There I had the great opportunity to study with lutenist and early music specialist, Paul O'Dette. Before that, I studied at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. I've written many books on topics like harmony, practicing and historical performance practice. I also love performing and have given recitals in China, USA, New Zealand and Australia. Your support helps me continue to share the research I've encountered, which gives a more holistic approach to guitar playing that I hope becomes more mainstream. My ultimate vision is that one day it would be the norm for every classical guitarist to be trained in harmony, sight reading, composition and improvisation.

I really enjoy playing all sorts of guitars, including electric guitar (check out my recordings of Scarlatti and Chopin on a Strat)

I also love supporting disadvantaged guitarists from Africa and elsewhere, who have received tuition and instruments through donations from generous individuals like yourself. Most recently, I gave a livestream concert for the children of Ukraine, which raised $3,000 for the Care and Relief for the Young charity. The music for that was composed in the weeks after the war began and is now available as both eBook and physical book. I hope to share the love and blessings that Christ has poured over me onto others, especially those who are in disadvantaged circumstances.
