Electro Dub Tango Performs in Downtown Miami | Art Loft

Electro Dub Tango treats downtown Miami to a night of neotango. Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Jimena Famá is the musical force behind the grooves and sultry sounds of Electro Dub Tango. Famá records and produces all of her own music. The result is a blend of traditional Argentine tango and modern dance music.

Experience Electro Dub Tango in live performance as part of the Arsht Center’s Live on the Plaza series. Performing under the stars alongside a live band, Famá performs Electro Dub Tango’s new song, “Hermosa Vida en Invierno.” The track is a part of the new album, “Hermosa Vida.”

Famá shares how her experiences growing up with tango music have shaped her as an artist. She once found tango music to be serious and sad, but now appreciates the music for its deep rhythms and complex patterns. Blending tango with modern dance music is one of the hallmarks of neotango – a genre music that Electro Dub Tango embraces. Elements of electronic music add a modern flair, while the roots of its rhythm are in tango. To Famá, it’s important to celebrate the cultural traditions of tango, while still allowing for growth and experimentation.
