Yellow Brick Road Quilt Pattern using Fat Quarters from Crayola

I just love a quilt pattern that uses fat quarters. I have a fat quarter bundle from Riley Blake that features Crayola Crayons and who doesn't love Crayola Crayons. Each fat quarter is cut the same way which makes cutting easier in the Yellow Brick Road pattern. Join me for a tutorial on how to make this quilt pattern. One of the beauties of fat quarters is when you buy a bundle, you have the coordinating fabrics chosen for you. If you are reluctant in choosing coordinating fabric a fat quarter bundle will be your best friend with this pattern.

I have this pattern and have made it multiple times and love it. The last time was a few years ago and was going thru a divorce and had no money for Christmas for my kids but had fabric. So 2 of them got a quilt and my oldest was in the Army and in Iraq and couldnt really get gifts. This pattern has a special place in my heart cuz i was able to make 2 of them in just a few nights and quilted, wrapped and under the tree.

I have had this pattern for quite some time, probably since 2007 if that’s when it came out! My daughter gave it to me for my birthday, along with some fat quarters. I have never made it, but will have to give it a whirl soon. Looks like a fun pattern! I have always wanted to make it in blues and yellows like the pattern shows. I've got this same pattern (I gather it's very popular). I haven't done it yet because I've just never thought about what fabric I want to use. I've done disappearing 9 patches, so this can't be any more confusing. Easy to sew, but not so easy to put together without instructions on how to put together!! Thanks for sharing. It’s been years since I’ve made The Yellow Brick quilt. Probably one of my first made quilts. May need to find it and blow the dust off and try it again!
