i ordered the 168 Ohuhu set and while it was a massive purchase and I’m kinda freaking out about how expensive it was, this vid is making me so excited to get them and I’m sure it’ll be worth it haha

Great video! I love markers. My tip is if you want to add a shadow but you don't have a darker tone of whatever color you're using, use it's complementary color in a similar value, then put the original color on top of that to blend them together and now you have shadow! This can take a few layers to get it just right, but it gives a lot of depth if that's what you're looking for 😄

I have learned so much from watching your videos, Lucid. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Paper makes a big difference in both types of markers. It would be nice for viewers that didn't know this to see a test with water-based markers on watercolor paper and alcohol markers on paper made especially for alcohol markers. I recently started using alcohol paper and was about to give up when I heard of an alcohol paper that is as thin as printer paper, but it has a special coating. Wow! It made all the difference in the world.

Love these tips! I love alcohol markers but have lately been on a Posca pen kick!!! I can’t stop doing videos about them on my channel! I just love any art supplies that creates a clean smooth color!!! I love that alcohol based can do certain things too! Like layer and blend!!!

So nice and refreshing to see how different marker brands with blending and shading. I haven't touched mine as much as I did back in school, but it's always fun trying something new or returning to an art medium that you loved growing up too. Thank you for sharing! ^^

Update: 2 years later Ohuhu has refills!! Not for all though, but they do have ink now so you can drip refill or pull out the nib to refill :)

It definitely help to know how well a certain paper type handles the marker before attempting blending. With the cheap imitation touch, I had to figure out I needed to start with the colorless blender before adding the colors I wanted to blend. Medium type for the type of marker will make a difference too, thanks. 🤗❤️👍🏽💯

This was SO helpful. Thank you for all of the tips. I bought the Ohuhu set. I have been making art with watercolor, acrylics and inks for over 30 years but have never used alcohol inks. I am excited to explore this medium. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video! I always hate watching art tutorials and not knowing what tools they are using. Your voice is so calm too ^^

Thanks so much for the comparison to the water-based markers! I've come from water-based markers and I used to be kind of scared of alcohol-based markers, but lately I've been finding that alcohol markers are somehow better than water-based markers, and I don't know why, but you showed why! So thanks so much!

I saw someone use clear gesso on coloring pages etc to stop the bleed through before they used alcohol markers it worked!
