What does a feminist humanitarian agenda look like? How can we shift power in the humanitarian system from global to local and from men to women and gender diverse communities?

ActionAid, the Feminist Humanitarian Network, the Shifting the Power Coalition, and the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy hosted a discussion on exactly this featuring some incredible feminist speakers from women’s rights organisations across Asia, Africa and the Pacific.

The event explores the principles that should underpin feminist humanitarian policy, including the power dynamics frequently at play between international and local actors. It explored how within a world where economic, climate and humanitarian crises, and conflict are converging, feminist policy can work across the development, humanitarian, and security divides.

This event is part of Summit Season – a full calendar of events organised by the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy (CFFP) and its partners, leading up to the first ever Feminist Foreign Policy Summit on the 13th of April 2022. In partnership with the governments of Canada, Sweden, and Mexico, over 15 leading civil society organisations, and the Open Society Foundation, the Summit will constitute an opportunity to bring together the leading thinkers and practitioners in the field of Feminist Foreign Policy to support the exchange of best practices, knowledge, and expertise, and to take a stand against global inequality and exclusion.
