If you build a subframe underneath the cab, you could put airbags between them. You could tilt the frame, airbags and cab as one piece.

You guys are absolutely one the best channels on YouTube! I love that yall work together so well! Your ingenuity common sense and just plain get it done attitude are very hard to come by anymore!

Interesting that the Welkers use things regardless of its age. That oil can Nick used while using the drill press, is just like one I inherited from my dad, who got inherited it from my grandfather. It's close to 100 years old and works perfectly today.
Quality counts.

Absolutely awe struck as I watch the progression of your fabrication project. Can't wait to see the finished Big Bud!!

On European trucks, they use airbags on all 4 corners of their cabs, and those cabs tilt, to give access for service. The airbag is mounted between the cab and the hinges with swaybars and support so when it tilts, it tilt with everything

The Big Bud manufacturers really made their stuff user friendly, i haven't seen any other cabs that tilt forward. Greed is the issue, wasn't it Deere who dirty dealed Wagner and put them out of business which they benefited from. My grandpa had some issue about John Deere when i was a kid, but i don't remember all the details. I believe if you buy a tractor or anything else, you should have the right to repair it like how thing's used to be. You guy's fixing and fabricating these old Buds has been great to watch, it show's that with enough initiative, you can make this old equipment as useable today as any of the high dollar inferior stuff out there with huge overhead in tough economic time's that one wouldn't say are stable. I hope people watching get the inspiration to go out and do the same thing. I've heard young people struggling to start ot take over farming, but don't have the means to buy or lease hundreds of dollar's worth of equipment. I don't think people realise how much potential they have to do the thing's you do. I work on my own vehicle's, home, and anything else, because i can't afford to have it done. I'm disabled, and i have to find ways around that, as well as tool's to get thing's done. You just have to have Faith that the Lord will help you. I alway thank the Lord, and many time's have asked for the strength, will, and ability to get thing's done. I would be lost without the Lord, and that's really the truth, and i love how you have Faith pushing you to the finish line.
G-d bless everyone.

Great content to watch Friday evening in Norway. Cold start tip would be to warm the batteries inside and use a engine heater if needed. Diesel coolant heaters have gotten cheap so it my be a pleasant uppgrade to install.

I wonder how many young kids watch your builds & get inspired to build. Couple more years, your little ones will be old enough to be in the shop. Gonna be fun to watch.

Top tip....
Usually most ironworker punches have a small point in the centre..
Mark your material using a centre punch - make it deep - engage that "point" and boom.
Perfect holes everything.... 👍👍

put the air bags in the front and mount them to the frame and then on the cab you just bolt them and remove 2 bolts to tip the cab and the air bags stay mounted on the the frame

My brother has restored a few muscle cars, when he was doing his 69 Camaro it started as a shell. He always said it was going to the factory on day one and you're the only one that showed up! 18 months after work and weekends it was done.

In a truck it will take 10 miles for smoke to clear up after changing diesel injectors. Everything gets loaded with fuel during the change

Love the winter work and have to say I am looking forward to spring planting as I am certain you are as well. Get out in the dirt. I hope you have the best year ever. Cheers and God bless.

The best way to line up holes on the punch is to centre punch where you want the holes and then lift the plate up to the die and wiggle around till the pin on the die goes in the hole from the centre punch. Also a little oil on the plate helps the die to not stick.

If you use a little oil on the iron worker punches, they will last alot longer. Keep up the great work. Jim

Its looking good and coming along nicely. I guess in regards the cab you could always add a "safety" chain so that if when extended if something lets go, it will not allow the cab to just drop over and possibly cause a lot of damage. Just clip it up when extended and unclip it when down in normal position :) Keep safe and well everyone :)
