Putin-Erdogan bonhomie upsets Biden; U.S fumes over Russia-Turkey energy deal

U.S, angered by NATO member Turkey's new energy deal with Russia, rushed officials to Ankara for talks. American officials pressed Turkish officials and business leaders into complying with Washington’s anti-Russian sanctions. This comes after the US issued the country several warnings. Turkish president Erdogan has continued to deepen ties with Russia, meeting president Putin four times in the past four months. Most recently, Erdogan agreed to Putin’s proposal to create an international gas transit hub in Turkey after a meeting in Kazakhstan.

As a Greek, this alliance makes sense. Although Turkey and Greek relations are the lowest in recent memory, Greece could've simply left NATO, which has done nothing to stop Turkey's bullying in the Aegean illegal overflights; instead, Greece elected to support sanctions agains Russia. The US could care less about Greece and in a war between the two countries would side with Turkey due to its strategic importance. I love the blowback Greece is receiving and I'm saying this as a patriot.
