The US has spent over 100 billion dollars so far in military and financial aid to Ukraine since Russia launched the war in February of 2022, and Donald Trump believes America is just making the conflict worse.

My advice to the Russian Government is to intensify the combat mission in Ukraine, not easing the operation. Let the settlement be decided on the battle field. Zelensky and the west have no other intentions other than to defeat or weaken Russia through Ukraine. If they call for peace negotiations, they understand that they are very fragile on the battlefront and they need a breather to rest and rearm.
