Quick question; Is there a way to switch off the automatic aspect ratio switching when you have the camera mounted vertically/horizontally? I can see a need for that if you want 16:9 video but have to mount eh camera vertically for space/mounting reasons. I see from the manual theres a "Ratio" setting for each mode, and a "Rotation Lock" setting (but I don't know if that just affects the shooting info).

Great review and comparison! I hate to say it, I still haven't used my ACE Pro or my X4 yet. I've been sitting on them for at least 2 or 3 months. I did take my X2 and in a housing, dropped it about 2 feet of water on a string and shot some cool video of little 2 foot long shark pups that you can see from the sidewalk in Key West last month. This makes me wonder what the GO4 will be like!

How about heat dissipation and recording time? Are those affected at all in the 3S? I can imagine that the higher throughput could result in more heat and possible shutdowns like in the Go 2. Is this the case?
