I went to the grocery store today and they had Wide Mouth Kerr lids for $3.98 - and had two cases of them on the shelf, I brought seven boxes home with me - doing the HAPPY DANCE.

Wow. I’m surprised it sealed after it buckled! Still makes me nervous to buy them.

You should put a warning label on your video.... the price tag on those lids made me choke on my morning toast! I had contemplated these different lids to designate for water bath canning only because I've seen a lot of reviews that they buckle, and also they come unsealed after a few days/week or so. Again, thanks for taking another one for the team😌

Since the Amish is known for reusing their lids, it makes sense that they put so much more compound in them. I would definitely only use the other three once, but the Amish ones would more than likely be safe for a second round, especially if you boil them with a little bit of baking soda to “fluff up“ the compound. That’s what I’ve always been told they do whenever they are reusing flat lids or even store-bought lids from pickles and mayonnaise jars and things like that. Just a thought. 💙💙💙

I've never seen a buckled lid before, it looked like I imagined, so thank you for that? A real bummer for you esp at that price, yikes!

Lisa I have had better luck with my Tattler lids than I have been with the others. It was scary in the beginning but i love them .

On that jar that with the lid that buckled when you opened it up check and see if the glass has not been chipped. On another video you I watched she had a problem with the glass having a slight chip in the ring area.

Went to farm and fleet today. They had several boxes of lids with a limit of 3 boxes of each size.

It buckled lik the Amazon lids I got last year. Those lids, I water bath can jams with. So, if they don't seal, I can put them in the fridge. Today, I canned 9 24oz jars of Blueberry pie filling. So good.

Walmart had empty canning shelves. Literally went next door to Ace Hardware, and they had all sizes of jars and had jar lids. Walmart is a tool to cause shortage panic.

If you weigh in grams, you’ll get a much better idea of exactly how much of a difference there is. I know, I’m not crazy for metric either. But the small amount of a gram is much better for this sort of thing. Thanks for your testing efforts! Saved me from having to buy lids at $1 each!

The only time I have ever seen them buckle like that is when I have over tighten them. I have seen this happen to several brands. I often have to remind my self to only finger tighten.

I ordered the Denalis when I couldn't find them locally. I've used them to can several things, pressure and water bath and have not any problem with them not sealing. I also ordered some Harvest Guard because i have an, 'if all else fails' mindset so wanted to have them just in case but haven't tried them yet.

at that price use tattlers or harvest guards! Even if they end up at the kids house at least you will get them back eventually and they are reusable.
