If you play dúo you can combine it with ninetales aurora veil and get a 80% damage reducción for 3s. For those 3 seconds can have have better defenses than metagross, get a shield bigger than the shield that tsarenna gets, and have a 80% damage reduction. Add a comfey on top of that and armarouge doesn't die.

On top of that you get movement speed increase, if fire spin+ hits an enemy pokemon.

The fire spin build is just like walking around as a living nuclear fallout, everything just slowly gets ticked just as long as you’re near them

I don’t imagine stacking glasses will be the wave when the math is officially out, but adding bulk (especially physical or HP) will be great here. After watching Ghatlue’s breakdown about how all the buffs work that seems to be the best solution. Muscle, Spoon and Focus or Guard to boost sustain and be a menace might be it.

I find it a little funny that most of the time, what looks like the weaker build on the PTS ends up being the stronger build on release. The Fire Spin build also fits my interest and playstyle more, so I'm very excited to try it

Im glad they added an attacker than isnt necessarily a glass cannon but also a but tanky. As someone who loves ranged attackers but hates squishy mons this pokemons seems fit for me!

I agree. Fire spin definitely feels stronger. It's been much easier for me to hard carry games with fire spin than with armor cannon. There is for sure an advantage in constantly being in their faces so you get to use the shot gun boosted autos to their full potential.

I just realized, Armarouge is a Venisaur style of Attacker. It's got both a long-ranged poking version and a close ranged version that's sticky and all about sitting on your face, just like Solar Beam and Petal Dance Venisaur respectively.

In draft, I think this might be a pokemon that might like Assault vest for spin. You really don't need it with the sp.attack damage reduction plus increased defenses and the shield from flame charge, but its an interesting thought to build it that way.

Armarouge seems fun from practice. Nearly got the trial license for it so I can try these builds out.

Thats a stack! Armorouge is definitely a fun defender for sure. I love aura type abilities/moves, so I'm happy to hear that Fire Spin is the preferred moveset, even if its only slightly. It does feel weird to see 2 Charcadet next to each other...

Muscle+Scarf to extend FS duration sounds good at first but after testing in practice mode you end up doing less damage per FS and taking longer to do it
There might be an Attack Speed breakpoint you can hit with a combination of XAttack/RFS/MB where despite doing less dmg overall you have a bigger burst after Flame Charge but at that point just play Petal Dance Venusaur
Personally I've been running Spoon, Cursed Incense and Focus Band and am looking to test Wise Glasses when I get more time
