Blake was 8 months pregnant at the point of the interview and it wasn't a secret well before then. She even announced the pregnancy before the interview in a tabloid magazine.
Plus the journalist is foreign (non American) and it is very common in any European country that if you are visibly pregnant, you will be congratulated and it will be mentioned during an interview.
In some tv shows depending on the country, they may even offer well wishes for the baby and mother and give small gifts.
In fact it would be incredibly rude if the new mother wasnt congratulated by the journalist, I can give several cases in Eastern Europe where journalist for local artist received a bit of a backlash for the faux pas of not saying congratulations to a pregnant mother.
Furthermore, in press tours or interviews if there is a topic that is not to be mentioned it is discussed before filming.
Also, her icing the journalist out during the interview is unprofessional. Not to mention the fact of Blake being known for costuming and fashion, and the main draw and critic success of the movie was based in fashion, expression via fashion and etc.
For the reason it is coming out - it is very simple. Someone called out her first and then people actually started questioning and not dismissing anything. Thus, like with JLO and etc. when there is a small chip in the narrative and people are willing to listen to something like this from another side - they do.
This is why a certain big Youtuber is having their secrets spilled after years - because people are more likely to come out when there is information already out and they are not alone.

Very strange that Blake Lively was willing to be in a movie made by Woody Allen, who groomed his own adopted daughter to become his wife, but has a problem with a female interviewer for asking about her movie outfits.

Kjersti didn’t say that she wants an apology. That was a loaded question from TMZ asking if she’s open to one, and then twisted by the Independent.

She replied to the original question of being open to an apology saying that she is open to an apology from Blake, but she's not holding her breath for one. Nearly a decade's passed.

She also said that she put it out as something similar happened to a work friend of hers, which could fit because it was a few days ahead. Blake’s genuinely awful in this and tone deaf of the film. Thanks Ben!

😡😡😡 I believe Kjersti that she didn’t know there were other controversies going on with Blake Lively when she posted her interview. I love(d) Blake Lively, I saw “It Ends With Us” and I had no idea until yesterday that there was stuff going on AT ALL! . Also, Kjersti demonstrates such a beautiful, humble heart and I think it is INCREDIBLY brave of her to call out a star’s terrible behaviour! What a vulnerable place she has gotten herself into. Good for her! And as much as I was fond of Blake Lively before I found out all of this, I don’t think you need to “defend” her actions IN ANY WAY!. Her behaviour was reprehensible. I’ve been pregnant 4 times and have had daughters and so many friends who
have been pregnant in my lifetime, and not ONE of them has demonstrated such rudeness and disregard for another human being. STOP DEFENDING HER, instead you should be encouraging her to apologize to this very lovely lady who was just doing her job TO PROMOTE LIVELY! 😡😡😡

She dropped the interview at the right time. The movie won awards for its visual art which includes wardrobe, Blake herself is into wardrobe and costumes AND the interviewer is into art and visual
Art which is something she now does for a living. It was a perfectly adequate question to ask about the costumes.
Blake had also recently announced her pregnancy at the time. She was being an absolute twat and deserves to be called out on this because her horrific attitude is clearly a trend. I’m glad this absolves that interviewer but she should have said, “Yep! I’ve chosen to drop it now because she made me feel crap on purpose and I want everyone to know it so here’s her karma!” Simples. 😂

More professional and sensitive - this woman can’t get pregnant- that’s a big deal. Lively promotes her motherhood for all its societal benefits and it’s hard to be a a person or couple that is shut out of it as it is- you congratulates others and do your best to be happy for them- this IS a learning opportunity that you never know who you’re talking to, or when they might have the upper hand!

Honestly, bringing up an old interview 8 years later is quite ridiculous. The real issue is the lack of attention Blake seems to be giving DV, which is the theme of her new film, and how she seems to be treating the movie like it was a romcom.

How come everyone is trying to cancel Blake for a bad interview ? The interviewer didn't have any idea about Blake's health status (she could have had a lot going on behind the scenes). Just like Blake couldn't of had any knowledge of the interviewer's health struggles🌻This comes off as very one sided. Be fair people.
