This video discusses the importance of pre-snap reads and communication between defensive backs. It stresses calling out formation details like number of receivers, their alignment and leverage. This helps anticipate potential routes. The DBs must communicate coverage assignments like who has inside help. They must also alert each other to possible routes based on down and distance. Flipped alignments or motion need to be echoed to change coverage if needed. Assignments like banjo coverage are assigned. Running with motion is important to stay with receivers in case routes change. Above all, clear communication allows DBs to anticipate plays and put themselves in better position to make a stop.

I'm 5'9 170 pounds with a 5 second 40 time. I'm going to be a junior next year and I want to start playing tackle football. I have been playing football since 6th grade but not competitive. I got good hands. I'm tough I really like the physicality, I like tackling, I need to improve speed. I was wondering if I should play strong safety, free safety, or receiver. Since I am going to be starting late. Thank you Coach.
