I understand where this story is coming from but finding this out in modern times is devastating. I would feel upset too. There were thousands that went through this cruel punishment. The sad part is it still happens in a different form today.

It’s really horrible that all these atrocities happened to the black slaves but does anyone talk about what’s happening to other ethnic peoples in this country and around the world. Let’s keep bringing up the past so we can all stay simmering in hate from 300 years ago. No wonder we can’t get along.
