Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that Vice President Kamala Harris' plan to enact stricter penalties on price gouging is similar to ones filed by state attorneys general. "This isn't about trying to price fix," Beshear said.

"Face the Nation" is America's premier Sunday morning public affairs program. The broadcast is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, having debuted Nov. 7, 1954, on CBS. Every Sunday, "Face the Nation" moderator and CBS News senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan welcomes leaders, newsmakers, and experts to a lively round table discussion of current events and the latest news.

When a handful of global conglomerates control the free market, then we have no competition which is vital to fair & reasonable prices.

Gouging can be smaller amounts for same or more money. Price gouging is doubling the price of epi Pens from $150 to $500 when coast is around $8. It's an egregious grab for profit when salaries aren't going up, but joblessness and homelessness is.

It's about control and power. It's not about helping the American voters. Supply and demand, close the borders. For 3 1/2 years democrats in government said the economy is great and getting better. Now all of a sudden it's not.

More government spending is not going to fix the inflation that was caused by government spending

As a Kentucky Republican, I can say our Democratic Governor Andy Beshear has been great! He’s done so much for Kentucky. Couldn’t imagine how his republican opponent would’ve handled Covid. He was on our tvs nightly sharing facts and calming people and their doubts. It makes me happy to see him getting attention from across the nation because he means he has a good shot to go further than KY, maybe even to the presidency. He would have my vote for sure.

I can tell you that I am sick and tired of monopolies that increase their rates astronomically and we don't have a choice but pay. For instance, the waste management company in our area is a monopoly. When the boroughs put out for bids for service in their area they only get the one bid. The waste company this year increased the fees so high it is just ridiculous. But none of the residents here have a choice. We are not allowed to hire our own waste haulers we have to pay the company the borough contracts with. I am also sick and tired of seeing all the CEO's that make hundreds of millions of dollars every year and still increase their services/products. I will never spend my money at Starbuck's when the new CEO is now making $100 million a year. It's out of control. Something needs to be done to stop all the corporate greed, period. If these CEO's would give back half their pay to the run the company the prices could come down. Who in the hell needs $100 million dollar paycheck every year. It's just ridiculous.
