How To Do Crypto Taxes Correctly | UK Crypto Tax Guide

You need to pay Crypto Taxes when you buy and sell crypto. Many people are unsure of this, so here is what I do with all my cryptocurrency taxes. This guide should help you from HMRC UK Tax and also other countries to get yourself sorted.

I’m self employed in the uk. I work hard for my money and already paid tax on it. I recently risked a small amount on crypto and plan to just leave it in the hope it goes to the moon one day. If that day ever comes then I won’t mind paying tax on it but until then the tax man can suck my balls!

I’ve swapped my crypto from one to another probably more than 100 times. I’ve put money in when I’ve had it, taken it out when I’ve needed it, put it back in, swapped one for another then swapped it back.
I paid my tax when I earned my pittance, the govt have had their share.

Because every disposal counts as a taxable event It will look like you have spent a million pounds when declaring your total investment. You are just re-using the same money. Pound > usdt > btc > usdt > caw > usdt, etc..

I'm in a capital loss, but always fill out koinly every year for my accountant. Even though I don't fall into paying yet!! I'm building a history of declaration, so in the future if it moons, I can show my journey.

Remember if you hodl there is no tax to pay until you sell or transfer.
