Big fan of the Patton score. That echoing trumpet - it is very effective in musically supporting the mystical reincarnation aspects of the character. And a darn good march too!

My favorites are Macarthur, Capricorn One and Planet of the Apes.. There are no bad Jerry Goldsmith movie scores, some are just better than others.

I like the title "10 of the best" and not "the best 10" which just won't work for masters like Jerry Goldsmith. Thank you for the compilation.
Goldsmith has also a few master pieces that people don't know just because the respective movies were trash and remained mostly unknown. The best example is Caboblanco: a genius soundtrack from Goldsmith, but a miserable movie.

The compiler(s) of this list should have included Jerry Goldsmith's highly experimental score for "Planet of the Apes" (1968). How dare he/she/they overlook that creepy and iconic score!

My Favorite Jerry Goldsmith Composer of the score movie was The Swarm, Damnation Alley, Rambo (1982), Gremlins 1 and 2, Poltergeist and Looney Tunes Back in Action.
