Archers are always seen in pop culture as only deadly from range. The truth couldn't be further from, they were often the biggest and strongest guys around and were not fun to fight up close.

The battle of Agincourt is a great example of how deadly longbowmen at close range. After they ran out of arrows, they charged at the French knights who were bogged down by the muddy fields and were hacked down with these exact weapons 👀
