Why SHADOW Tech is KING of the Cloud PCs

shadow is the future, nobody would need anymore an Pc in next years. I already sold my pc, using shadow and play it.

Uhh well they almost went bankrupt, lowered specs and increased prices.
The current specs are awful, the price is kinda ehh and it has terrible latency an issue not even felt in boosteroid even though boosteroid looks like Minecraft it at least runs cod and steady on the lowest settings something shadow can't right now.

Shadow has no limit in play sessions! The rest all have. No total pc freedom. iPad mini 6 and an Xbox controller with shadow subscription. Best set up from my experience. The controller has full rumble feature on iOS as well. A

Yeah it should just work. But I'm a Shadow user from the beginning, but since the price hike the service has degradated. When launching the app my pc will just hang for 10 minutes and then kick me out and their support is lackluster. Shadow was a great service...

I've tried all platforms, many times. Shrine and Co are interesting, but if you're a heavy user they will be more expensive than Shadow with the Power Upgrade. For me the big moment will see to feel how much performance there is on the Power Upgrade. If i can play most games at 4K Max Settings, that's it. Then they are really king. Right now, although it's a whole different story: GeForce Now on the RTX 3080 subscription kills them all. The power is insane. I have tried playing most AAA titles on GeforceNOW and 99% of them i can put everything to MAX and play in 4K (since a few months 4K is activated for all on the 3080 tier) without any issues.

I would still prefer the freedom of a full pc, and would be willing to be like 25$ more compared to GeForce Now, but it has to be powerful and they can't wait 5 years before they will upgrade it again or Shadow will be done by then because others will catch up!

The power upgrade pushes this to almost £50 a month if you’re also paying for an extra 256GB storage. Way too costly. You’re better off saving your money and just buying a gaming laptop.

The *one and only* thing still preventing me from finally embarking on the Shadow train is the price vs performance ratio. It's simply not good enough as of right now. Of course this is bound to change but beyond their latest promises of phasing out their supply of GTX 1080s from the base offer and gradually move on to something more interesting, the only way you can access top-tier RTX 3080 experience is through their upcoming Premium plan which is nothing short of a whopping 45€/Month ! It's simply as expensive as a physical purchase would be !

Of course there are already net benefits with going the cloud way and they are a significantly reduced power bill, a longer average lifespan of your system considering there will never be any intensive game-related stress on its components, you won't have to worry about failure yourself and finally you won't have to worry about mid-life updates (again it has so far been a promise of Shadow and nothing else, but I have faith in their rebirth, if the super-fast availability of their VMs upon subscription is of any indication).

We'll see when they do actually roll-out anything higher than 1080s in late 2023. It might well be the day I'll finally opt for their service. I can absolutely drop 30€ a month for an RTX-based cloud computing service and FINALLY forget about game library limitations that are sadly reminiscent of even the best services out there such as GFN (of which I have been a founders member for 2 years now) or Game Pass.

Shadow keeps crashing my wifi
Haven't had wifi for a week despite troubleshooting with isp, their finally coming out. Shadow support is limited to email with a min 24hr return time.
