Deaths of Honey and Barry Sherman, founder of Apotex, deemed suspicious

Barry Sherman, founder of pharmaceutical giant Apotex, and his wife Honey Sherman were found dead inside their Toronto home. Police have deemed their deaths suspicious and revealed the cause of death was ligature neck compression.

He was a very hard working man. I know, because when I worked there I always saw him and his car on weekends. His desk was piled high with paperwork. I also met Barry several times and he was very nice if not reserved. I can’t believe that this was a suicide or that one killed the other. No one has spoken of a suicide note and the deaths seem to be thought out. I only suspect foul play. They had just finished a law suit with relatives wanting part of the company. They were selling their house to downsize and live in a downtown condo. They were involved in drugs to Haiti relief through the states. Obviously, safety was a concern. They shouldn’t have been living in that house while it was being sold. My thoughts and prayers for the family. They must be overcome with grief and disbelief. They gave so much to the country and their community. They made it drugs cheaper and healthcare better for us all. Very sad!

Barry Sherman was very cruel to the children of the deceased owner of the Empire Laboratories which Barry manipulated to get the ownership of.

Private investigators, HIRED BY THE FAMILY, say the couple was murdered. I'd say it's likely they were paid by the family to come to that conclusion.

There's no way a 74 year old man had the capability to hang his wife then himself!

And based on their life... their love of community service and overall words from those that knew them personally? The false narrative of a murder suicide is an insult and an abomination to this lovely couples life and legacy!

Condolences to the family and loved ones and this is truly a loss for all the people around the world that these two dedicated their lives in regards to helping without the greedy tendicies that most pharma companies live and breathe for! It's a sad shame that someone took them out like that!

I pray that the murderous actions against them will be avenged sevenfold by justice for their untimely demise!

It wouldn't be the first time a crime has occurred with the lack of evidence of forced entry or with an attempt to portray a murder suicide by apparent hanging off a banister.

Doesn't seem like a viable scenario. These were incredible giving people. Lovely people and community people. Such a tragedy. And I believe they were murdered and whomever attempted to make it look like murder suicide had some very twisted motive. There must be cameras.

Very tragic that such lovely human beings and successful in life and business have had this happen. I am glad the family is insisting the police do an extreme thorough investigation and not make any unsubstantiated assumptions. Look deeper. These are exceptional people that loved life and people.

My Sincere Sympathy to their family, friends and colleagues. Deepest condolences.

May the authorities investigate to the deepest level to find the truth to their murder.

4 years later still a mystery to all except whom ever indeed the belts as a hint for someone to do whatever Barry refused to do. Big clue for Police. As for the hired help by the family. Did they find anything?

The hanging method can leave few clues, make it appear as suicide. People can also be very good actors, making it appear that everything in their life is okay with a Prozac smile.
