In Lesson 8 of Alison’s 'Traditional Irish Fiddle, Beginner 1' Course, Irish musician and TV presenter Doireann Ní Ghlacáin teaches the basics of learning to play fiddle, focusing on the E string. In most Irish tunes, the first part of the song is played on the lower octave and the second part is played on the upper octave, on the E string. Doireann explains the finger positions and recommends exercises for learners to practise in this easy-to-follow fiddle lesson.
