Visit Galazio Restaurant at 6223 Crain Highway in La Plata

After a full and hectic day of work, Tony and I were ready for a good dinner! We headed into La Plata with Galazio Restaurant on our mind.

Galazio’s cozy restaurant interior is adorned with brick faced walls and arched windows in warm earthy tones. There are numerous wine racks that define the dining room space and section off the bar. It is clean, simple and inviting.

We decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful evening and the weather could not have been more perfect! Out hostess was very sweet and our waiter provided good service!

After looking over the menu, Tony decided to order Galazio’s brick oven pizza, custom made to his specifications and topped with sausage, pepperoni, onions and more than a few shakes of oregano.

We ventured to the patio to check out the wood fired brick oven. With hot embers glowing and heat radiating out, I have to say that Galazio’s staff created one perfectly cooked pizza for Tony- turning it frequently for even cooking! And, since he likes his pizza well done, the staff was happy to accommodate!

The crust was crispy, even on the bottom, and the pizza toppings were generous! We could smell the earthy aroma of the oregano as the pizza cooked - if that does not hit the senses, I do not know what does….this pizza was a beautiful site - and for a pizza connoiseur, like Tony, this rustic, authentic, brick oven pizza is what dreams are made of!

Tony’s pizza was delivered hot to the table and definitely earned Tony’s stamp of approval, with a thumbs up, a nod and a plate that went from full to empty in no time!

I ordered a gyro platter, which included a generous portion of gyro meat topped with a few slices of ripe tomatoes and red onion, greek fried potatoes and pita wedges. Of course, Tzaziki was included, and Galazio’s Tzaziki is delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed this tasty meal! It hit the spot!

Since I broke my diet again, having inhaled my dinner and plenty of carbs from tthe pita and those amazing crispy potatoes, I felt that I would take this to the next level of diet failure by ordering 2 pieces of baklava to go, one for me and one for Tony

When we got home, we cracked into those containers and enjoyed every bite! Wow they were delicious! And for a sweet tooth like me, this was pure heaven and what dreams my are made of! Stacked tall and dense with nuts and dripping with honey, wrapped in layers of filo dough. So good!

Galazio Restaurant’s food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Their staff is friendly and accommodating. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining, and are open 7 days per week. They offer Tuesday specials on their brick oven pizza!
