I don't understand... once the water touches the exposed terminal it complete the circuit causing the LED sensor to light up? I am sure I am missing the trick of the type of material or liquid use. Could you illuminate me on this?

In parallel all LED got 9Volt, but these are 1.5V LEDs, within 1 min they become useless

It wont work on actual water tank. You need 220v ac to work this you must need transistor...
