The result of saturation of space with technology and artificial crap. Take kids out into nature for a month of camping doing outward bound or something, teach them some skills and watch what happens. People don’t realize how much we’re affected by constant noise, content stimulation, artificial light, a total separation from our true environment- and increasingly from real human interaction. We’ve been sold a bill of goods. Industrialists chopped up nature, processed and polluted it and sold us back cheap imitations so they can make profit
