I have the Forerunner 55 and i love it. Old-school 80’s style sounds on a modern watch. Does everything i need for running too.

Garmin Forerunner 55 has everything you need and can be purchased for around £130.

Went with the 55. Since the 165 came out, the price to “become a runner” dropped even more 🤙

Would love to see a comparison Forerunner 55 vs 165 / 265, after reading all comments. I'm currently using a competitor's watch but could be tempted by the glorious race-pace feature. Love this idea!

I intentionally went for the Forerunner 255 as it is priced at around the same price as the 165 but still has its glare free display.
But that seems like a style choice. Nevertheless great watch with fantastic features like the daily workout suggestions. Really takes away the stress of planning the marathon preparation.

I've been saying up for a garmin. I discovered a love for long distance running after having my baby and I've signed up for my first half marathon in April. I'm starting to out grow my fitbit because I'm wanting to do more trail runs and the idea of downloading a map and being told where to go is very appealing. 😂

I've been an triathlete and runner for nigh on 10 years now exercising daily. At least for me, after 2 months tops I don't use 90% of the watches' functions anymore. I need to track pace, distance, time and longest possible battery life. End of story.

£260 affordable 😬??? I wonder if you can review watches more around £100/150 ..

The big problem is that I prefer to wear my mechanical watch (except for while running of course). I'd still like to track everything of course, especially while running. But getting this only for runs seems wasteful too, and it can't do it's job well if I am not wearing it all the time. I feel like Garmin could come up with an ecosystem of devices... a smart ring for casual wearing outside of sports. A pulse meter thingy that is the brains with GPS and all. And perhaps (optionally) a smart band with display that is the display so you have some control/information while running. All should be interconnected to give a full picture. Without having to wear a clunky and, honestly, not that pretty smart watch all the time.

not sure I would call £260 affordable for a watch. Got a Samsung active two watch for less than £100 and it can play music, has a touch screen and a lot of the features of the Garmin like gps as well as being able to download other apps from the play store for extra functionality. Not sure the Garmin is worth it for anyone who doesn't take running insanely seriously.

I've been running seriously again for three months (68 runs and 280km in) for the first time in 6 years and would love a new Forerunner to help me with my running journey. I've worked my way through a 5 and then 10 and now half-marathon plan, on my way to the full Cape Town Marathon in October. I love the Running Channel and I've gained so much from watching yout training videos and the Interviews. Thanks, Running Channel!

The 255 (now on permanent sale) is the best value watch for functionality/hardware that Garmin make.

I was thinking of getting a 265 as a prize for completing my first 10k this year, but I think I’ll go with this instead!

I just got a used vivo4S to see if I like it and I totally love it! I want to upgrade one day to the 265s and hope to the day they upgrade those and go on sale.

I’ll be getting one as soon as my very limited Whoop strap subscription expires! Looking forward to moving away from Whoop!

Love my 165, got it a couple months ago as my very first smart/running watch. It's currently training me for my first ultra! Love the suggested workouts and health stats, super motivating

I’ve been thinking about getting the 265S, but I may now go with this 165 as it also has a relatively small face and really, all the features that I’d want from the more expensive watch!

Have 945, had no interest in upgrading, but i recently dropped it and i have some broken pixels on the MIP display. Kind of worried that the water resistance could also have been affected... Watch has been fine since then, though. Will think about the 975 when comes out. I bike sometimes and like the maps for that or for hiking sometimes.
