I love Nabal but Cannonball avo is larger and taste likey similar and Cannonball takes cold better by 2 or 3 degrees, cannonball is mostly grown in northern cal, but its starting to be grown in southern cal. Cannonball avocado fruit has more flesh to eat seed of nabal takes up alot of space.

Greg, thanks for posting! Just yesterday I was looking for a Nabal video on YouTube! So how timely this is - I was thinking to myself yesterday when is Greg going to do a Nabal video 😀?. That is one tree I’m looking for in 5 gallon! Gary Gragg is selling them right now in 15 gallon at his nursery in Richmond near Oakland but they are super super expensive. Do you ever sell trees or cuttings for grafts of any varieties? It would be very fun to talk shop sometime when I’m in Vista at moms. I have a small grove in East Hills of San Jose in SF Bay Area and trying to fill out my collection. It’s humble amount of 11 varieties but growing. I keep telling my wife it’s the last tree but I keep adding more. Our climate is similar to the hills of Escondido and I’ve been having good results for being in Northern Cal but it’s a struggle in the beginning when the trees are young. I grew up in Vista and I have trees down there as well on moms 3 acre homestead. I planted a few years back for her some Reed, Sharwil, and Hass and they are all kicking ass right now. Originally our Vista property was an old avocado orchard but was VERY old and in early 1980’s when I was a kid we bulldozed all the trees and planted only 3 Hass, 2 which are still producing heavily 30 years later. So finally I’m trying to build out that orchard in Vista as well. Only issue in Vista is my mom keeps bitching about the water bill but I keep telling her to let me keep adding avo trees and I pay the water. 🤑. My brother has about 100 Hass in Riverside on an old 4 acre residential property he recently bought near the UC but they are struggling due to neglect and he had to stump many of them . He lucked out bc he got grandfathered in with gauge canal water access at agricultural rate even though he is on a residential property. Our whole family is pretty OCD with Avos!!!! It’s Just a hobby we’ve never sold any. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate every single video you have put out! Your enthusiasm and depth of understanding is to be applauded.

Greg, I’m looking for a great flavor/texture eating quality type B. I’m deciding between the two? I’m in NorCal. Which would you recommend? Would Sharwill be more productive? Thank you!

That seed must be awesome for rootstock. It's even bigger than the Marcus Pumpkin seed which can get to 3 lbs.
