The racism in The U.S. is greatly underestimated and misunderstood by people in other countries. The concept of mixed-race is not one that most Americans really grasp. Even on census forms people need to select one race with which they identify, and there is not an option for mixed race. The U.S. loves to call itself "a melting-pot" of cultures, but that is a myth. Countries like England are far more integrated than The United States, which is much more socially segregated.
