I will focus on the roles of New Associates (0 to 2 years of work experience) who are just starting out at the firm. I will be referring to my own experience from working at a Big 4 Accounting firm for the past 7 years, as well as working with New Associates on a daily basis.

I will be graduating in a B.S. of accounting in May. I'm currently taking a very rigorous tax class this summer but don't hate the work too much. Are accounting classes anything similar to the real world? What advice/tips would you give?

What is your understanding of real estate clients at big4? I would like to focus exclusively on REITs, cost segregation, tax credit “lihtc”, etc. Perhaps this is found at national firms like BDO, RSM, etc.
