Wow I got goose bumps when you mentioned the Philippines. I got my Ancestry results showing 33% Basque and 66% Filipino born in the Philippines. I live in Central Valley California I am trying to learn my heritage one step at a time. I enjoyed your videos, thanks for sharing.

I haven't done any dna tests or anything, but I'm fairly certain I have no Basque in me. I just find their unique history fascinating. So many people groups and languages have been lost over the centuries assimilated into larger groups, and it is remarkable to find a window into a very old culture that has survived so much. Thanks for your videos!

I showed this and some of your other videos to a geography of Oregon class I teach. My students loved it.

My interest in linguistics brought me here. A language indigenous to Europe but isn't Indo-European and predates it by millennia? I'm totally learning about it!

I have 18% Basque and 66% Polish and the rest Scottish. Crazy to think how this came to be. 😊

Me encanta que alguien a tantos kms de euskal herria, tenga tan vivos sus origenes. Eso es importante.

I don't know if you corrected it but the prevalence of Rh negative blood is a b negative in The Basque region. This is the this is the rarest blood besides I guess the no blood, another place that there's a heavy prevalence is in Northern Africa the Berber tribe. Anyway I have been a Rh negative aficionado and just thought I would chirp in if you already corrected yourself please forgive my comment rock on thank you for your videos very informative.

Really nice introduction :) bit I would like to make a positive criticism if O might...
Do people call Scotland a region? Do people call Wales a region? Not really... they are nations without state, but nations nevertheless. So this exactly who we are, for different historical circumstances. Unless "region" has a different meaning in English I find it "diminishing". And I have no idea why has become so popular in Angloxason media to call us "region".
In any case really cool video :) we need more presence in internet and in English language. Thanks a lot ! :)
