How to fish Moreton Bay shallows with SOFT PLASTICS

This week I hit the reef edges in Moreton Bay with lightly weighted soft plastics. The mid-afternoon bite was pretty good with a number both snapper and sweetlip getting caught. Great fun fishing the shallow stuff as it is like hand to hand combat for the first couple meters and I don't win every battle.
I go through everything, the gear, retrieves, tides etc.

Don’t know how you get away with such a light jig head. I struggle getting a plastic down in the shallows with a 3/8 most of the time!

Great video. We've tried a few of the different drop offs but haven't had much luck. Will try a few of your tips in terms of boat positioning etc. I'm guessing the same technique for any of the reef drop offs around the bay islands - peel, coochie, ormiston, could yield something.
