5:45 - So to get your ipi Number as a producer you can upload and release your song/beats with a distributor like Distrokid for example ? Another question is : On their system(Distrokid) they would provide to me My unique IPI number which i would be able to see an access also? And this IPI number would be needed By Songtrust and P.R.Os(PROs that collect Publishing ) to collect the Publishing Side of my royalties and other potential income that i'm missing out correct? .... Thats basically 3 questions :)

Good info. I hope this question makes sense, if not let me know...How ‘big’ do you think the record has to be to pay $100 fee to start collecting royalties?

Ok all this sounds great but no one covers this.... How can we as producers upload beats by themselves and be protected when any artist releases it without our consent.That is what has been killing me....I send a lot of artists beats through email and next thing I know they have a video to it on Worldstar with over a million views.How can we protect ourselves from THIS???

Hey Dj pain I have two question as a producer. When you send stems do we leave the beat unmixed as well? As in leaving the sliders as they are (fl studio mixer). Second when you send a rapper an MP3 for placement so we leave that beat unmixed or that’s the one where we mixed?

If we are not already with ASCAP or BMI, do they automatically choose for us, or do we get to decide which one we want to be with?

SongTrust provides a service that people can do but don't. Correct? Pain can you get someone on who can explain how an artist can cut out an entity such as SongTrust by doing the work themselves?

So let me get this str8;
We pay a platform to add our music to iTunes and such distributors.
The above mention platform usually takes a portion of the revenue generated.
The distributors takes a portion of the revenue generated.
The distributor sends the money to a society rather than pay the artist directly. The society will likely take a portion of the revenue generated.
In order to collect the revenue from the society, we have to pay a company such as Song Trust.

Am I missing something.
