I work on saws and small engines for a living and yer video helped me on the routing of the oil lines, I had em swapped and it ran like crap and twernt oilin. Good job on your video.

Great Vid. I just got a Super 2 that was family owned. In the process of rebuilding it. I needed the exact location of the duckbill in the oiler tank and I'm also missing the piece that holds the duckbill on. I was thinking copper tubing as well, but this video verified it for me. You're a lifesaver. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. I'm working on one that someone has had apart before and thanks to your video, I now see they have the oil lines reversed. It smokes like crazy when you put bar oil in and now I know why!

Great saws. 1973 and still going strong. Just put a new diaphragm kit on my carb and the kit included new fuel lines. ($6.99 for a complete kit with lines & fuel line filter! Your vid confirmed & explained the routing helpfully. Thanks.

Thanks for the vid, helped me greatly in double checking my oil line orientation. Something to look believe the original "nipple" that was in the duck bill and tubing (the one you used brass for) was porous and aids in bleeding off pressure back to the crank case after the saw is off so it doesn't sit pressurized and continue puking oil out the oiler.
In the end of the line there is inserted a porous connector tube (Homelite # 69659). The check valve (duck bill) was slipped over the end of the porous connector tube. The length of the connector tube exposed between the oil line end and the check valve can be varied to control the oil flow, a small gap for higher tank pressure and a larger gap for lower tank pressure to cause more or less oil flow. The porous tube also allowed oil tank pressure to bleed back into the crankcase without allowing oil to enter the crankcase. These distances should be from 1/16" min to 1/8" max.

good vid.Jay, the "mechanism" is a pulse pump for the bar oil as well providing pos/neg. pulses to pressurize the oil tank the oil pickup strainer also has a check valve in it to prevent oil siphon when eng is off.

I needed this, Thanks. It's got a hole in the fuel tank that apparently is blocked off. I am used to a pressure line being there, so, I knew it could just be blocked, and everything will work.

a suggestion on the top oil tank line, a double ended fitting used on most poulan fuel return line in tank works best to hold duckbill on and allow hose to come in and seal the hole as a leak will let the air out w/out pressurizing the tank to push oil to the pulse pump for bar oiling.

Just saw this video. ThevSuper 2 is indeed an excellent saw with an engine that will.run strong for many years. Pretty much what you might expect from an engine made by a company that manufacturers engines for private aircraft. The weak point is the bar oiler. The diaphragm that presurrizes the oil tank, the diaphragm that resides behind the small cover plate behind the clutch sprocket, is not available anywhere and not manufactured by anybody. If you can find one from a private source it will be very old and cost you more than the saw is worth.

That little deal you don;t know about is the problem. There is a little diafram in there that pumps the oil.

In place of that brass tube you bought you could have used the plastic tube that is inside most ball point pens. Just clean it and cut it to .75 inch..
