The Sacred Irish Cow - Glas Ghaibhleann - Irish Folklore

The Glas Ghaibhneach, a mythical cow with green skin, is a magical entity from Irish folklore, gifted by the Tuatha Dé Danann. Its inexhaustible milk brought prosperity and healing, transforming barren lands into fertile ones. Protected by the legendary blacksmith Gobán, the cow roamed freely, avoiding greed. Tragedy struck when it was stolen, and its magic faded, leaving the lands barren. Legend has it that its spirit still roams, searching for peace.

Lay about doing nothing for years but rolling in moss.
Algae formed over its hide and the legend was born.
